ReallyCleverHomes is a UK-based business which provides homeowners with a range of ideas, products and solutions that have the potential to increase the value of their homes and improve their lifestyles.
The idea for ReallyCleverHomes came largely out of the work we have done redeveloping and refurbishing our own homes, and watching what other people did with theirs. We're real people with real lives so although the idea of an "eco-home", "smart home", or "Grand Design" was always quite attractive it has never been a realistic option for us (or most of the people we know). Nor would we really consider ouselves to be 'gadget freaks' - OK we like our technology, but it has to have a purpose; not just exist for its own sake. So we came up with a list of real things that we thought we should focus on that would make our homes better, and our lives just that bit better or easier. That list became '10 rules for a really clever home' and an idea for a website and associated business was born!
The ReallyCleverHomes business was established in 2003 and is now based in a modern warehouse/office on the Thorp Arch Estate near Wetherby in West Yorkshire. We're not a faceless 24/7 call-centre operation, nor are we 'some guy working from a spare bedroom knocking things out on eBay'. What we are is a specialist business, offering (we'd like to think) good products and solutions, at sensible prices, backed up by honest, high-quality (and dare we say 'old-fashioned') customer service.
