Overview
This is a universal X-10 sender for controlling appliances and lights, that are plugged into X10 modules, through the existing house wiring. Automatically switches all lights (on or flashing) in case of alarm, without running any extra wires. Switch appliances and lights from every location in your home without extra cables. You can use almost every signal as a “trigger” for the SM10: contact closure (relays, switch of alarm keypad), but also any voltage between 6 and 18 V (e.g. doorbell transformer or amplified audio signal).
Applications
- The SM10 can be used, for instance, to connect your present (non X-10 compatible) alarm system to Marmitek X10 modules.
- A magnetic switch can be connected to the SM10, which can be used to turn lights on and off when opening or closing doors and windows.
- The SM10 can be connected to the switch contacts of a light sensor or motion sensor or an (amplified) microphone or humidity sensor in order to activate X10 modules.
- The door switch of your garage door can be connected to the SM10 to automatically switch on the lights when the door opens, etc.
